Membership deepens Hideez's engagement with European cybersecurity policy as organizations across the EU move to phase out phishable authentication under NIS2 and DORA.
Kyiv, Ukraine — September 23, 2026. Hideez, a workforce identity and passwordless authentication vendor, today announced it has joined the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO), a pan-European public-private federation for cybersecurity, established in 2016 as the European Commission's contractual partner for the Public-Private Partnership in Cybersecurity. The membership expands the company's engagement with the European cybersecurity ecosystem as it scales its workforce identity and passwordless authentication solutions across the region.
Hideez joins ECSO at a point where stolen credentials remain the dominant way into European organizations. In its Threat Landscape 2025 report, ENISA identified phishing as the primary method of initial intrusion, accounting for roughly 60 percent of observed cases across nearly 4,900 incidents analyzed in the EU. Phishing-as-a-service platforms and AI-generated lures have lowered the cost of these campaigns while raising their success rate, leaving passwords and legacy multi-factor authentication increasingly exposed.
"As Europe strengthens its cyber resilience through frameworks such as NIS2 and DORA, identity security is becoming a business-critical priority. Phishing-resistant authentication and passwordless solutions are no longer emerging technologies, but key enablers of secure digital transformation. We are pleased to welcome Hideez to the ECSO community and look forward to its contribution to advancing practical, scalable approaches to workforce identity and access management across Europe," said Dr Joanna Świątkowska, ECSO Secretary General.
Covering What Modern Identity Leaves Behind
Most enterprise identity platforms secure what is already prepared for single sign-on. Much of Europe's public sector and critical infrastructure runs on what is not: shared workstations, on-premises web systems, VPN and remote environments, and business applications built before modern identity standards existed. The Hideez platform supports FIDO2 passkeys, mobile authentication, and hardware security keys, integrates with third-party FIDO-certified authenticators and existing IAM systems, and extends phishing-resistant authentication to legacy applications that were never designed for it. On-premises and private-cloud deployment allows organizations to retain control over identity data — a requirement that recurs across regulated European sectors.
"Workforce identity is one of the practical problems sitting underneath every conversation about European digital sovereignty. The hard part is rarely the modern cloud application — it is the shared workstation and the internal system nobody can afford to rewrite. Joining ECSO gives us a seat in those conversations, alongside the people setting policy and standards for the region we build for," said Oleg Naumenko, CEO of Hideez.
Through its ECSO membership, Hideez will contribute to work on identity and access management, phishing-resistant authentication, and the practical migration paths organizations need to move away from passwords and legacy MFA. The company will also follow discussions around NIS2 and DORA implementation as they affect authentication requirements for enterprises and operators of critical infrastructure.
