Kyiv, Ukraine — June 9, 2025. Hideez has launched a mobile authenticator app that leverages cryptographic technology for passwordless login. The solution was developed with the support of the USAID Cybersecurity for Critical Infrastructure in Ukraine Activity.
Unlike popular apps that rely on one-time codes and remain vulnerable to phishing attacks, the Hideez Authenticator implements a passwordless model based on public-key cryptography. This eliminates the need to remember or transmit credentials and ensures phishing resistance.
Users can log into workstations, applications, and web services by simply scanning a QR code with their smartphone. All cryptographic keys are stored locally in a secure enclave on the user’s device, and authentication is possible even without an internet connection — a critical advantage during blackouts.
The app is already deployed as part of the Hideez Workforce Identity system at the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development, and other institutions with heightened security requirements.
“This is a major step forward in strengthening Ukraine’s cyber resilience. Ukraine already has a strong IT sector, a high level of digital maturity, and the ability to rapidly adopt cutting-edge security technologies. Passwordless authentication is already supported by global tech leaders like Google, Apple, and Microsoft — and we believe Ukraine can be not only a user but a creator of such solutions.
We're already seeing interest from companies in Europe and the United States. This confirms that Ukrainian companies are capable not only of following global trends but of setting them. Our product is proof that innovation doesn't have to come from Silicon Valley — it can come from Ukraine,” said Oleg Naumenko, CEO of Hideez.
